THE HUSTLE IS REAL PART 1 :

MY FIRST COOKING EXPERIENCE, RICE TURNING INTO RICE BALLS [MAGIC] AND FIRST TIME IN CLASS

This Episode of DIARY OF THE LABADI BOY IN RUSSIA shouldn't JUST make you laugh but also to serve as a lesson to us all.
One day in your life, you will move outta your comfort zone due to varied reasons and YOU GOTTA BE READY. So if you are still there, continue learning the basic things of life and perfect them so that you are not found wanting when the time comes for you to move or relocate.

IT’S THE PREPARATORY STAGE OF YOUR LIFE!!!!!! DON’T SLACK.

LET'S BEGIN

My mum used to tell me this : " Nii, you have to learn how to wash your clothes and cook ooooooo so that when YOU RELOCATE or STAY WITH SOMEONE , you wouldn’t say the person is wicked or being hard on you ". Always, my reply had been, ME???????STAY WITH SOMEONE?????Daddy wouldn’t even allow it and It’s TRUE too, my dad wouldn’t allow it. NO NO NO
So before coming here,I'd never stayed alone or with someone before.

TURN OF EVENTS

I’m in Russia now [which means I’ve relocated] and we are two in a room [which means I’m staying with someone]. So basically, what mummy said  had come to pass. AND I DIDN’T KNOW HOW TO COOK AT ALL. My only cooking experience was frying eggs [No one at home fries egg more than me. I WAS THE BEST].

SO HERE I WAS, I had everything [The utensils and Foodstuff: Victor,Lwipa [my Zambian madam] and King Sowah helped me in purchasing all of them] that was used for cooking BUT didn’t know how to cook.
WHAT A SHOCK! WHAT A SHOCK!! WHAT A SHOCK!!! ๐Ÿ˜ขi miss my church mehn, Lighthouse Chapel International๐Ÿ˜ข

THANKS TO YOU GUYS ONCE AGAIN: Victor, Lwipa and King Sowah for all the support, help and guidance. GOD BLESS YOU

Fortunately for me, I brought Banku [a Ghanaian dish which consist of a mixture of Corn and Cassava dough],Gari [also known as Cassava Flakes], Black Pepper and Fried Tilapia from Ghana. Unfortunately, my Banku got finished in JUST two days. So I turned my attention to the Gari. So I used to eat it with the Black Pepper and Sausages [I fried them myself ooooooooo. Couple of times, they got burnt but had no choice than to eat them like that] and also I went to KFC and other Fast Food Joints. But when my Gari got finished, THAT WAS WHEN REALITY SET IN.

So one day, I asked one of my baby girls, Nita to teach me how to prepare Spaghetti. She taught me and THAT WAS IT. I WAS READY FOR MY FIRST COOKING EXPERIENCE. I did it to perfection and even added my own skills to it. WAS EXTREMELY HAPPY. IT WAS CRAZY.

My Cooked Spaghetti,Vegges and Fried Egg
I was sooooooooooo proud of myself for achieving such a feat [I know some peeps will be like ‘you proud cos of JUST THIS ๐Ÿ˜’?????? I Know Right ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜‰ ]. I took lots and lots of pics during and after cos I wanted my mum and everyone to know I’m trying my best. I even posted a couple of them on FACEBOOK [I know right…. Hmmmmmmm]. The comments were POSITIVE mehn ๐Ÿ˜ƒ.

Ready

I wanted to do more so I decided to challenge myself in cooking RICE [My NEMESIS] with VEGETABLE STEW. So once again, I asked for help [hahahahaha, I knew there was YouTube but I chose to ask my most trusted friends]. This time around, it was from Precious, Mandy and some other friends. But basically, I used what these two girls sent me cos they sent their replies earlier.

So I prepared my Vegetable Stew in no time and without sweat at all. It was actually EASY . It was soooooooo yummy that I tasted it countless times [I tell you].

My Vegetable Stew : Yummy

FACING MY NEMESIS [COOKING RICE]

NOW HERE I WAS, TO EITHER FACE MY NEMESIS, THE RICE or DRAW BACK. I CHOSE TO FACE IT so because of that I took lots of videos and pictures to monitor my progress and how well I fared. I BEGAN carefully and steadily cos I didn't wanna make any mistake.

Poured my rice into the saucepan, added water, salt then put it on the fire. Minutes later, I opened and realized ALL THE WATER HAD DISAPPEARED [ABSORBED] also, THE RICE HAD RISEN TO THE LID AREA OF MY SAUCEPAN. Precious was having lectures and Mandy too was outta coverage area. So I tried using my mind
I put off the fire, took part of the rice and poured it into another saucepan. Then,I put them back on the fire [so I had two saucepans of rice]. Instead of allowing them to cook, I felt It would get burnt cos there was NO WATER in it so I added extra water [Hmmmmmmmmm] and a pinch of salt to each of them.

My Rice

My Two Rice On Fire

Minutes after, I opened them and realized my rice wasn't how I wanted it to be. IT WAS WATERY [OH WHAT A PITY]. Was soooooooo heartbroken ๐Ÿ’” and dejected ๐Ÿ˜ญ that I switched off the gas and left for class. But before leaving,I HID THE RICE in the fridge cos If my roommate and flatmate[Nigerians] had seen it, Jeez I would have been dead by now. THEY WOULD LAUGH AND LAUGH AND LAUGH AT ME.

Class was a little bit boring for me. First,I got lost[went to a different campus] thereby getting there late and also I kept thinking about what I was gonna do with THE RICE and also my roomie and flatmate NOT FINDING OUT the mess I'd done.
After class, I hurriedly came home, moulded it into RICE BALLS and ate some as dinner [It was soooooooo YUMMY especially the VEGETABLE STEW].
BUT whiles moulding it, my Flatmate [Kelvin] came to the kitchen and there I was using my two hands to mould 'something'. When he asked what was that, I said "OH THAT???? It's like Eba [a local dish in Nigeria] But in Ghana we use rice then after we mould it ". SO I ESCAPED FROM HIS LAUGHTER ๐Ÿ˜ค๐Ÿ˜ค๐Ÿ˜ค๐Ÿ˜ค๐Ÿ˜ค

It was here I  realized I'd done 'YAWA'
Ready

Rice Balls with my Vegetable Stew [Every Mistake is a New Style]

AS USUAL, I uploaded the pics on Facebook and GOSH, THE COMMENTS WERE OUTTA THE WORLD. I had lots of people laughing, making fun of me and stuff but some few friends encouraged me NOT TO GIVE UP.

The breaking point was when Precious was like " OH NII  ๐Ÿ˜ฎ ". THAT WAS IT!!!!!!! ๐Ÿ˜ž๐Ÿ˜Ÿ
I was very moody cos I felt I'd disappointed her. Later that night, Mum called and gave me a lengthy lecture [Gosh, the woman was sooooooo hard on ME] and since then cooking rice has never been a headache or MY NEMESIS AGAIN.

TO THE GLORY OF GOD, I can EVEN prepare Jollof Rice. My Jollof Rice is actually one of THE BEST I've ever eaten. *One day, If you happen to visit me, request for it and I BET YOU, YOU WOULDN'T BE DISAPPOINTED AT ALL. YOU WOULD EVEN ASK FOR A TAKEAWAY*
THANKS TO MUM, PRECIOUS, MANDY, NITA,GLADYS and all my girls who one way or the other sent me COOKING TIPS, HOW TOs,FOOD TIMETABLES etc. I’m really really grateful…..GOD BLESS YOU ALL #kisses ๐Ÿ˜™

THE REAL TRUTH:

Immediately, I was done preparing the stew, Harry Potter, Hermione Granger and Ron Wesley visited me. We met SOMEWHERE [lemme not go into details at all] and we became friends. Our friendship has been a secret until now cos of MUGGLES and WIZARDS kinda 'THING'. We know rumours have been going around concerning OUR FRIENDSHIP in the Wizardry World But we've all denied it. BUT TODAY, I'M LETTING THE CAT OUTTA THE BAG #CONFIRMED. MINISTRY OF MAGIC, DO YOUR WORST, WE DON'T CARE].
So when my 3 friends came to my kitchen, they were like why didn’t I inform them I was coming to Russia and other stuff. I tried explaining but they didn’t wanna understand. Whiles talking to them I was preparing my rice too[Multitasking] cos I wanted to get to class on time [MY FIRST DAY IN CLASS] .I mistakenly said something that was suppose to be between Hermione and I. The boys were really shocked and surprised so out of anger,THEY JUST DISAPPEARED ๐Ÿ˜ž
I was left with Hermione.I tried explaining and calming her down but she kept crying and crying and crying so I decided to play with her hair [Those times when I touch her hair,SHE LOVED IT] and out of frustration or so [maybe anger or pain],she casted a spell on my rice and also DISAPPEARED.

I don't wanna go into details of what really transpired but all I can say is SHE WAS IN LOVE WITH ME sometime ago and the boys didn't know about it.
THIS WAS ACTUALLY WHAT HAPPENED.
HARRY, HERMI AND RON ,I'm  very sorry....I MISS YOU GUYS SOOOOOO MUCH ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ. The Russian Weather and Language is killing. I NEED POTIONS and SPELLS to help me overcome it.
Hoping to you from you guys soon.

NOW, I NII SEYRAM CAN BOLDLY SAY I CAN COOK RICE AND ANY OTHER RICE DISH AT ALL. I KNOW I’M NOT THERE YET COS I HAVE A LONG WAY TO GO [PREPARING SOUP AND OTHER COMPLICATED DISHES] BUT SURELY I WILL GET THERE.

STEP BY STEP

My country[Ghana],will be having it's Presidential Elections on Wednesday,7th of December. Even though I'm not with them physically and also to cast my vote, I'm  FERVENTLY PRAYING FOR A PEACEFUL ELECTION . GOD BLESS OUR HOMELAND GHANA AND MAKE OUR NATION GREAT AND STRONG.

LASTLY, I WANNA SAY HAPPY BIRTHDAY IN ADVANCE TO MY MADAM. She goes by the name LWIPA [From Zambia] and 7th December is HER BIRTHDAY. Yay, we gonna have FUN......OH NO, Ghana will be voting so we will be focused on it [ROTFL ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚]
TO LWIPA : As the angels sing heavenly praises for our God above,
As the dawn touches the Earth with its soft rays,
As another chapter of your life starts anew,
I wish that God will grant you your heart’s greatest desire
And your presence endows peace to others as refreshing as the morning dew.
Have a blessed and wonderful birthday!
